Puppy Parties

This is a service run by our qualified nurse, Kay Deacon, for all puppies registered and vaccinated at Acorn Veterinary Centre.

Once the puppies have received their vaccinations they are invited to bring their owners to a fun get together usually set on a Saturday Morning at Studley. Topics discussed include worming. flea treatment, toilet training, neutering and Identichips. The parties are an ideal opportunity for owners and puppies to socialise in a safe environment and for ideas to be exchanged.

Socialisation is a very important part of your puppy's life. It is essential that this begins as soon as possible. Our parties allows the puppies to behave like puppies and the owners to gain an understanding of how puppies play. It is easy to have high expectations of how your puppy should behave and to be suprised at the reality of normal healthy puppy behaviour.

  • February's Pet of the Month
    February's Pet of the Month

Neville is our February’s Pet of Month! At only 5 months old, he is our youngest recipient of the award.

At the beginning of December, Neville was diagnosed with a stomach upset known as gastritis. Even with medication his condition did not clear up. It was decided that further investigations were required such as x-rays and laparoscopic surgery to get to the bottom of what was going on.

Neville was so brave and recovered well from his anaesthetic and investigations. With results from biopsies and a change of diet to include more fibre, Neville is feeling much better.

Neville is such a cheeky chappy who puts a smile on everyone’s face here at Acorn.

    Well done Neville!
