Endoscopy and Laparoscopy

The practice has a flexible endoscope suitable for examining the gastrointesinal tract of dogs and cats. and a short rigid endoscope suitable for examining the mouth and respiratory tract of small animals.
The endoscope is a very useful piece of equipment and on many occasions avoids the need for major investigative surgery when a foreign body is suspected. Intestinal biopsies help with rapid diagnosis and are usually pain free.

Our laparoscopic equipment enables abdominal examination to be carried out with very little invasion and key hole bitch spays. This equipment allows surgery to much less invasive and much less painful for the patient.

  • February's Pet of the Month
    February's Pet of the Month

Neville is our February’s Pet of Month! At only 5 months old, he is our youngest recipient of the award.

At the beginning of December, Neville was diagnosed with a stomach upset known as gastritis. Even with medication his condition did not clear up. It was decided that further investigations were required such as x-rays and laparoscopic surgery to get to the bottom of what was going on.

Neville was so brave and recovered well from his anaesthetic and investigations. With results from biopsies and a change of diet to include more fibre, Neville is feeling much better.

Neville is such a cheeky chappy who puts a smile on everyone’s face here at Acorn.

    Well done Neville!
