Certain cases need to be treated as soon as possible. These include:
- Jaw fractures
- Fracture of an immature tooth, ie a fracture of the tooth in animals less than 10 months old. These should be treated within three days.
- An avulsed tooth (tooth “pulled” from socket) that needs to be re-implanted. These cases need to be seen within hours for treatment to be successful.
In the case of an emergency, always contact your primary care veterinary surgeon first. They can then assess your pet and arrange a referral appointment.
