We are a small animal practice in Studley, first established in 1989. We are passionate about animals and our skilled team of vet surgeons and nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care. We also offer free parking for clients at the surgery.
Kelly is our head nurse and has been with Acorn since 2004. She enjoys supporting our student nurses and is a clinical coach. Kelly also likes spending her time in theatre. Outside of work she enjoys walking her Border Terriers, Otis and Widget.
Kay Deacon RVN
Deputy Head Nurse
Kay is our deputy head nurse and has worked at Acorn since 2003. She has five dogs with her partner – four Huskies and a Pug! All Kay’s animals are rescues, including two that were abandoned and had to be hand reared. Kay particularly enjoys puppy socialisation and regularly hosts puppy parties. She loves meeting people in our busy reception and thoroughly enjoys her role in theatre. Her working day is certainly varied and Kay says she loves being part of the Acorn team.
Sarah Underhill RVN Dip A. Phys MIAAT
Sarah specialises in physiotherapy and gained her diploma in February 2017. She thoroughly enjoys this aspect of her job and sees regular patients for physio appointments in and out of practice. Sarah has been with us since 2011 and qualified as an RVN in 2013. In her free time she enjoys walking her Labrador called Hector and riding her horse, Milli.
Rebecca Koernich RVN
Rebecca is one of our nurses. She qualified in December 2016 and has been with us since 2012 – initially helping out as a volunteer on Saturday mornings and completing her student nurse training at the practice. Rebecca has an interest in marketing for the practice and managing our social media promotions and advertising. She has a Border collie and enjoys taking him for walks.
Shelley Walker RVN
Shelley has worked for Acorn since 2002 and is our fully qualified dental hygiene nurse. She enjoys carrying out post dental check-ups, follow ups and advising clients on dental matters. Shelley has three cats and is hoping to add chickens to her family in the near future. When she is at home she enjoys spending time with her two daughters who keep her very busy. She also enjoys swimming and badminton.
